Professor Lanuza is AMAZING! He is extremely passionate, intelligent, and yet extremely down to earth (although he may pretend not to be at first). He cares about the content, your learning, and the applicability of knowledge overall. If you complain about his class, you do NOT like sociology and do not like learning. Show up, listen, & participate

I loved soc 122 with Yader! Don't be scared after his first class, he's a great professor and if you show up to every class you will do very well!

Professor Lanuza is a great teacher who also happens to do this weird tough-guy schtick every class. The material in the class can be pretty boring, but he makes class engaging and dynamic by walking around the room and forcing you to take handwritten notes. Probably the easiest class I've taken at UCSB, midterm and final were basically free

Genuinely the best class I have taken in my four years here. His way of teaching makes it really easy to comprehend and understand the material. He's very funny and as long as you follow his rules, you will get an A. You would be doing yourself a disservice by not taking this class. Anyone who says otherwise is lame. We love you and your scarfs.

Im a 4th year psych major, and this was definitely one of my top 5 favorite classes I've ever taken! I have never learned so much in one class. Professor Lanuza is so knowledgeable about the topics, an engaging lecturer, and so funny. I also ended up loving his no electronics policy. Follow his rules and you will get an A no problem! 100% recommend

I'm in his class right now and he is hilarious. Yes he doesn't allow technology and yes he stops the lecture when someone walks in late so just don't do those things. It's so easy to be on his good side if u just FOLLOW HIS RULES. he is a great lecturer and really knows how to say things that will make sense for us. I love him and love his sass
