CollegeVery very nice curve! Add five points for the midterm and seven points for the final. Rises my grade from 85% to 98%, the lectures from Professor are clear and she prepared the lecture note for every singles class. Take her course if you want a great grade on your transcript.
Unlike what the other students say, I actually found it quite straightforward in her class. Do the homework diligently and the practice test questions, and go to her office hours, she will answer all your questions thoroughly. Also gives a generous curve at the end, although I got a 97 percent, you only need for an A(88), B(70). I would recommend.
Lectures contain all of the material and propositions you need to know for the midterm and final. Grading on tests is rather harsh but it is a hard course so it is understandable. She does copy proofs onto the board but is receptive to questions and explains the propositions well. The textbook kinda sucks but it gets the material across.
Her tests are rough, the questions aren't super difficult but takes off an unreal amount of points for not clarifying a proof or a simple arithmetic mistake. If you can take it with anyone else do that , she really doesn't explain examples, just copies them to the board while shes half mumbling. Be ready to learn on your own. Not a mean person tho
professor liu is really amazing!! i thought the class material was hard and the class was a bit fast-paced for me, but her lectures are very clear and organized. the homework is good preparation and she posts practice exams for extra preparation.
Prof. Liu is a nice person in many aspects. She will answer all your questions, either in OHs or via email. A good lecturer who knows how to use technology well. She may precurve the class. However, to get an A you need to work really hard. Tests are hard and count for about 85% of the total grade, and the time is really tight. Good luck.
