One of my favorite professor I've taken at UCSB as a comm major student. The class was incredibly easy to follow with clear grading system as long as you do the work. There's a bunch of materials to take a hands-on learning approach especially when it comes to the midterm and final as they are projects. GO TO CLASS b/c attendance is mandatory.

Prof Madrigal is a very sweet and kind lady. All the criteria is up to date and relevant to todays issues and conversations. Attendance is mandatory and there is a weekly material review. You have a paper and infograph for the midterm and a group podcast for the final. Easy but intriguing course!

Madrigal is so sweet and respectful to her students, and gave me faith in UCSB's comm department. She is so passionate about her class, and is super knowledgeable in realms of immigration and media. Madrigal truly cares about her students, and is very accommodating. No tests, one EASY group project, and one fun assignment for grading!

Dr. Madrigal has only taught here for one quarter, but I LOVE her. She's so knowledgeable about all the content, loves to just yap with you about anything after class or office hours, and though there's a lot of reading and writing each week, it's manageable. Midterm and final are projects. Lots of group work, very engaging.
