I was Professor Ahuja's research assistant for a quarter and received class credit. In my experience, he was very kind and seemed passionate about his work, but at the same time, was incredibly disorganized and vague about what his requirements for the work. He also offered me a job then never followed up on that which was interesting.
The class admittedly was a little disorganized at times but Ahuja is a great professor with lots of interesting perspectives. There are a lot of assigned readings per week so I'd recommend at least skimming the material each week so that you're prepared to engage in section, which required mandatory participation
Excellent professor, easily one of the best I had at UCSB. I highly recommend talking to him during Office Hours, he's highly intelligent, great at giving advice, and fun to talk to. Also his dog is adorable
Ahuja is a great professor and his politics of India class was extremely interesting. Attendance is mandatory so make sure you go, also no textbook required but there were extensive readings on gauchospace. Your grade is basically based of 2 papers and one take home final, participation was 15% as well. Grading was tough but that was because the TA
He's a nice man but his lectures are insanely dry and repetitive. For all those saying you need to attend lecture to understand the readings, you don't. You can only miss up to 3 lectures and they take roll. 2 8 pg papers and final is 3 take home mini essays. Overall, never taking his class again. Does anyone know if he curves??
Professor Ahuja is the wisest man I've ever met. Extremely knowledgeable and educated man. Teaches you things with the hope that you will use them as a reality check on how you view the world. Tough course, but he provides you with all the tools you need to succeed!
