A seminar in early modern European history, 1450-1700. Students develop research skills and use them to complete a research topic of their choice in early modern European history. Emphases will vary with instructor and offering.

CollegeGreat professor who's very passionate about the subject, just asks for a bit too much in a GE class.
Interesting lectures, but they're super heavy. Don't miss a class if you don't want to fall behind. Midterms were heavy; I wrote 2 essays every test.
She is super passionate which I love, she uses polls.ev sometimes for credit in class, I didn't read any of the textbook but I read the otherwise given weekly readings. Great class! kind of hard for a class I'm taking for a GE.
She's a pretty good professor. She made lectures really engaging, and she would go up and down the aisles before class started to check in on the students, so even though it's a big class, you can still connect with her pretty easily.
She's an excellent professor, especially if you care about the subject. While there is a lot of reading each week (usually ~30 pages of textbook plus ~30 pages of primary sources), if you keep up with it then participating in discussion and writing essays isn't difficult. Definitely a good class for history majors.
This class is fairly easy in terms of grading, but the lectures are a little quick, and there is a lot of reading and writing. Both the final and the midterm are in-class essays. As a history major, I liked this class, but my friends who aren't thought it was a little boring. Overall, if you need this class for a gen ed it is a good option.
