CollegeLectures were boring and tedious. The professor did not offer any good insights into the topics/readings at hand. Really, unnecessary to attend any of them. Do the readings, though -- the readings are actually interesting and informative. Very disappointing class.
I took FEMST80 over W23 with Doctor Ward and I can easily say it was one of the most fun classes I've had. She's a great lecturer and is super engaging, there was no homework aside from one super easy project, and the class was incredibly informative!
My favorite class so far at UCSB, lectures were always interesting and made me think about gender and sexuality in new ways. Really cares about students. Lots of weekly readings, some long ones, but they were interesting, textbook is a graphic novel. Prof Ward was inspiring and I would love to take her class again. :)
This class is honestly so fun. The material about queer studies and the way the professor teaches the material is fun and interesting. I actually enjoyed going to lecture. There is a fair amount of reading, around 2-3 hours a week. Grading breakdown is simple and straight forward with attendance, mid term paper, zine project, and a final.
