CollegeRome: The Game was fun, but it really depends on what TA you get. Devris encouraged you to be creative and have fun with the assignments, but he graded pretty harshly. You probably won't have the same problem, though. The professors themselves were really nice.
Professor moser likes her subject and likes to get students to think critically about archaeology. The assignment requirements can be vague but she's not a hard grader. I recommend doing the readings because she likes to ask questions to the class.
I enjoyed playing the game. Lots of reading. Professor's explanations throughout the games were fun. However, the TAs were tough graders, specifically my TA. Explanations during sections did not make sense and he would ramble about useless things. I asked for feedbacks as well because he gave me such a low grade on my final but I was ignored.
Rome the game was a super interesting class that used a choose your own adventure style that was pretty easy. The readings were dense and often contained useless info. You couldn't backtrack the reading which was annoying. TAs were tough graders on assignments and participation as well. Instructions were really vague for final paper and assignments
DO NOT TAKE. It was extremely difficult. The midterm had no study guide, just our notes, was super tricky, and based on SUCH granular information. 4 pop quizzes, a ton of reading, midterm, final paper, and a group project. I had a 4.0, its my last year, and I failed my midterm. Now I have to retake an arthi class. BS.
Prof. Moser is the best!! I have taken two of her art history classes and both have been so interesting. She makes lectures engaging and finds a way to change the traditional classroom. Our final was a short paper and a historical reenactment of an ancient spectacle. She did assign 4 pop quizzes but they were fairly easy.
