The professor has been audited three times. They use a Chinese textbook, but does not explain anything in the given English textbook. They are incredibly rude and when a student asked a question in class about a topic, they responded later in an email to everyone, saying "Why would anyone think [that]". Avoid at all costs. Atrocious.
Professor makes a bad first impression, was tempted to drop on first day. But, his accent is only a problem the first day, and he teaches things very clearly. You can choose to have homework included if it benefits your grade. Very comforting environment, ended up really enjoying the class and it really changed the way I think.
Pretty bad lecturer and the slides he has posted are from previous years and don't always match up with what he covered in class. There are two midterms, lowest is dropped. Lowest homework is dropped. Midterms and the final were really easy though. Easy class but poor prof IMO.
His lectures were pretty scattered and not super worth going to. He also writes out a bunch of problems and concepts but his handwriting is almost completely illegible. I had to teach myself almost all of it but the TAs had very useful resources.
He wasn't the worst that's for sure. In fact his lectures were good for the first half of the course. His lectures at the very end were kind of all over the place. His tests were pretty fair, but he constantly didn't follow the lecture slides and was unclear about certain expectations. It's a test heavy class, but doable.
