This class has a lot of work since you're writing your EIR but if you get your sections done early, he will give you a lot of feedback. Working hard now in this class is definitely worth it as this document can be used in interviews to show your work. I loved this class a lot.

David Stone is one of the most caring professors at UCSB. He has such a kind heart and is so easy to talk to. he is always open to listening and offering advice, i 100% recommend taking his class and getting to know him. 165B was work heavy, but if this is your passion I have no doubt that the final result from this class will be fulfilling

Stone is my favorite prof at UCSB. He is so caring and goes out of his way to offer help. Lots of work out of class but you come out with a 40+ page product at the end that is amazing for a writing sample for employers/grad school. Genuinely wants everyone to succeed. Highly recommend if you have any interest in env. consulting or planning.

Professor Stone is the best professor I have had at UCSB due to his passion for the subject, care for his students, and enthusiasm! This class is homework intensive but very informative and provides a great writing sample by the end. I hope people have a chance to take his classes before he retires (maybe next year)!

TAKE HIS CLASSES! By far the best professor I've had here at UCSB. 165A/165B are super specific to environmental impact analysis/EIR writing, so if that's something you're interested in, I HIGHLY recommend taking them. He truly does everything he can to set you up for success not only in his class but in your life/career. Awesome prof & awesome guy

Amazing class. You get to create your own EIR which looks amazing to grad schools and can be used in interviews as a writing sample. Very interesting. Very clear. Everyone should take the 165a/b series
