CollegeI LOVED Professor Lane. Yes this is a hard class but he makes it better. For the final paper, make sure to utilize your TA's for help as they are the ones who grade the papers. I ended up getting a 98 on the final paper as I used the advice given to me by my TA. Loved this class.
class involved a couple lecture videos and one in-person lecture a week (plus section). dr. lane's lectures are honestly funny and interesting, and the midterm and final exams are not difficult as long as you actually watch the lecture vids.
Dan lane is the best comm 89 professor! the class is still difficult but posts the lectures on canvas and an easy quiz in class every week. Midterm and final in class. 1 Essay. Love Dan Lane!
Not a good prof, lecture videos arent very helpful & class lectures arent posted so you really have to listen to gain information, which is difficult if you're a visual/hands-on learner. He was insanely inaccessible & if you had a question, he would dismiss you & tell you to talk to the TA. Like dude, YOURE the professor. Overall, did not like him.
The final and m.t were insanely hard. The grades received were unexpected for amount of studying for these tests. No study guides at all "canvas is your study guide". Was accessible up until one week before the final and the essay, understandable but not responding when students need last min help isn't chill. Start studying WEEKS prior to tests.
Lane is probably the best prof I've had at UCSB! Though, his tests are very hard and require lots of preparation. He is a great lecturer and is super accessible. Really wish he would provide a study guide or sample questions to guide studying. I was very unprepared for midterm.
