CollegeGood professor, made bio a lot easier and more digestible. She made it so getting a good grade was very achievable with all the discussion section assignments and extra credit through the post-exam opportunities. A little all over the place but a lot better compared to the other bio profs.
Class was not too difficult, just had a rough quarter. Def do the practice exams because a LOT of the questions came up on exams & review previous exams before the final. I emailed her about a late assignment asking for partial credit for peer responses, which I did ON TIME She didn't give me credit, which is very irritating. Lectures are recorded.
Dr. K wants us to succeed, and is genuinely the most caring professor I've had at UCSB. Exams are very fair, and there are many graded assignments, so your grade is not based solely on exam scores. She wants you to come out of the class learning something, and explains topics in a very clear and easy to understand way. Plus her dog is really cute.
Overall a decent professor. Sometimes had incorrect information on slides/contradicted herself or didn't explain things well and confused both herself and the class. Overvalued group work to an annoying degree, especially in section. However, she was very organized and prepared and gave plenty of resources for students to succeed.
Dr. K is one of the best professor in UCSB. I really love her class and she can explain every single point clearly and she cares about students. She is so passionate about the class and encourages me succeed in genetics class. She sponsors my summer research internship and encourages my motivation in biomedical science, and pursue my doctoral study
I lover Dr.K!!!! I took her 101B. She's probably a little bit nervous during the lectures but she does care about her students.
