PS15 . 3 Months Ago

She is an amazing lecturer and keeps your attention throughout the entire lecture period. She also explains and repeats concepts to ensure comprehension. The grading was tough, but entirely understandable because the material is tricky. Also, your TAs are your best friends and office hours are NEEDED.

POLSCI15 . 5 Months Ago

She is incredible! I never thought I would enjoy a class so heavily based on statistics but I loved every moment in her class. Polisci 15 was my favorite prereq and I wish I could take this class again. Get ready to study, but Stokes makes the content as comprehensive and understandable as possible. She is so funny and overall an amazing lecturer.

PS15 . 6 Months Ago

Stokes was a really passionate and caring professor. She cracked lots of jokes, which always lightened the mood, and did her best to explain the tough content in a digestible way. It isn't easy stuff, but she repeats herself and answers questions well. If you apply yourself you can succeed.

PS15 . 6 Months Ago

Professor Stokes was great. It is not her fault that the material is hard, and she explains it as best as possible. Works with you if you need help. GO TO OFFICE HOURS EVERY WEEK. The problem sets become easier the more you do, but they do take a while to complete, and you will struggle a bit; however, it is doable. Overall, she's great and funny.

PS15 . 2 Years Ago

Stokes is really smart and makes PS15 more interesting. Sit in the back if you don't want to be called on in lecture. Read the textbook! I found section to be more helpful for the tests and homework than lecture. The tests (midterm and final) are extremely easy if you've been paying attention in section. Homework is exactly like section activities.

PS15 . 2 Years Ago

Professor Stokes had a no-email policy, for both her and her TAs. She also often cold calls during lectures, which I hated. Office hours are a must to receive a good grade in her class, as they are extremely helpful when it comes to homework. The grade is largely dependent on homework and in-class midterm and final.
