Collegelecture heavy, and does not use lecture slides, oral lectures.
Hated the class, super unorganized, would always say presenting your work was voluntary but if you didn't present to the class she would just assume you didn't do the work. Goes on lots of tangents, no clear deadlines or instructions for the assignments she assigns on the spot.
SO DISORGANIZED the class itself isn't terribly difficult but she makes it unbearable at times and so unenjoyable especially when things are online
Professor Herrera Poot is a very kind and vibrant person, but she can be very confusing with the work. My advice is to read what she assigns and pay attention to the title, the author, and what indigenous language was used, for the midterm. Also, do your best work on the map she assigns because she has high expectations.
Her classes are great to attend if you genuinely care about what's being taught. Her classes take me back to when I was a student in Mx. because of the size of the classroom and the opportunities to interact with other students (in Spanish especially)
Hated this class so much. So unorganized. You never knew what was due and when it was due. There were big group projects. She was also kinda mean sometimes. Would not recommend at all.
