Professor Bamieh is one of my favorite professors i've had at UCSB. Always helpful if you go to office hours, and he posts these really comprehensive notes online for every chapter that are really helpful as a resource to always refer back to during the course. Midterm and Final were both open note and pretty easy if you reviewed the HW and reading

Very good lecture notes and course latex notes. It's very difficult to get 100 percent on anything even homework but he doesn't dock too much for errors. I would say this course is an easy B+ or A-, and a somewhat difficult A for that reason. I would say he spent a little too much time on phasers and math concepts which weren't all that useful.

The class isn't difficult outside of very time consuming labs and accompanying lab reports, however this course leaves a lot to be desired. Bamieh is a very boring lecturer, and he never goes into detail about any topic outside of the surface. The class is super unorganized and honestly very forgettable.

Pretty basic professor. Many occasions where people would ask a question to clarify a concept, only for him to make it more confusing. Grading scale is pretty forgiving luckily though. Labs are a pain and easily the most demanding part of the class;expect to take a few hours on each Lab report and to not finish the lab on time occasionally.

This guy puts in minimal effort and his class is so dry that half the people are either asleep or on their phones. The homework is a joke and doesn't get you to think about anything.

decent lecturer, is very knowledgeable. Homework wasnt too hard, tests weren't too hard. they werent easy either. Expect to put aside a good chuck of time for the lab.
