CollegeKulper is an amazing professor and my favorite I've had at UCSB. He makes his lectures fun and goes over all of the chapters with in-depth explanations. I did not find his tests too hard; just read the chapters and remember the key details. He worked with me for various time conflicts / other obligations I had. I highly recommend him W professor 😍
Absolute worst professor i've ever had at ucsb. Sucks dih at teaching and goes on irrelevant tangents about himself or things he finds interesting regarding the material but not actual important details that we are tested on. His practice exams are so easy and nowhere near the difficulty or bs that is on the actual exams.
Doug Kulper is truly a gem in the dept at UCSB. He cares so much about his students and is more than willing to help them succeed. Tests and quizzes are critical thinking based but if you really spend the time to read, you will succeed. NO TRICK QUESTIONS!!! Very down to earth Professor.
Doug knows the material and is okay at explaining concepts. He enjoys making the course harder than it needs to be. You can study as much as you want and think that you will get a good grade on his exams, but beware... His exams are 99% trick questions. Also, you are forced to use a webcam in this class, otherwise you'll get dropped.
Kulper is really funny and nice. He has clear, reasonable grading criteria and rounds up generously. 189 wasn't a lot of work. About an hour of reading per lecture, and then reread the text a couple more times before the exams. The textbook and material are excellent. I reccomend taking 189 if you're an econ accounting major. Just go to class!
A CPA with a JD degree, so he really has a LOT of real world experience to share with the class. A 10 question quiz everyday based on reading the assigned chapter for that week, he gives you 5 answers for free. The quizzes are handy when studying for midterms which are non-comprehensive and so is the final. EASY!!
