    Explores how Iran's cultural, technological, and political landscape offers generative ways of studying media: their alternative histories, adaptive practices, and subversive circulations. Engaging with an eclectic range of Iranian objects and practices from the nineteenth century to the present, students examine the role of media in forming identity and negotiating power while considering the material conditions that transform communications technologies.
