This course functions as a hybrid production studies and critical studies class. The course asks a central question: How is narrative and stylistic meaning produced in television, and how should we evaluate the evidentiary value of what creatives say about their own work? Using a sustained case study, this course closely studies television narrative form and the process of narration by studying the contributions of component departments within a coordinated system of creative decision-making.
