In the beginning of the term, we focus on a) social psychological explanations of intergroup dynamics and biases, and b) theories explaining how media affects outgroup perceptions and attitudes. Next, we explore media effects literature on how racial majority and minority groups are presented in the media and the consequences of these portrayals on intergroup relations.
