Good lecturer, easy class overall. A little heavy on reading but you can definitely get by and get a good grade without reading all the required materials. Only downside is we were supposed to purchase a couple books, but I am pretty sure you can find them at the library. I would recommend!

Little to no empathy for students, which made this class way more difficult than it had to be for a GE that freshmen take. would not UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCE take this class again with her as my professor. im warning you, future student, to simply wait until another professor is teaching this class

This class has a grading contract. She is very clear about what you need for an A, just stay on top of the coursework and you'll do fine. Lowkey graded on completion. If you read Percy Jackson, The Iliad, and the Odyssey you're set.

Ugh she is absolutely fantastic. The grading system is kinda weird but if you use any brain power at all it makes sense. Only actual assignment that takes effort is the midterm (rough draft) and final (final draft) which is the same essay. As long as you show up its basically impossible to not at least pass.

It was a very good GE. I feel like Greek Myth is a topic everyone wants to learn about but never got the chance to, and here that chance is. She does her best to make the textbooks accessible/cheap (you can get by without them tho). She is very knowledgeable in the subject but can sometimes get crabby during lecture bc of chatter.

I HIGHLY recommend this class as an easy and interesting gen ed. Helen Morales gives funny and engaging lectures. It is extremely clear what you need to do to get each letter grade, and it's basically impossible not to get the grade you want because assignments are only graded on completion. She does do random in-lecture responses once a week.
