A rigorous treatment of selected topics in modern solid state physics, including theoretical frameworks (second quantization, Green's functions, density matrix formalism, response functions), many-body effects (interacting electron gas, Fermi liquid theory, electron-phonon coupling, quantum spin models), superconductivity (Ginzburg-Landau theory, BCS theory, Josephson effect, quantum vortices), and topological phenomena (Landau levels and the quantum Hall effect, Berry phase and curvature, modern theory of polarization, topological insulators and superconductors, Majorana fermions).
