Professor Wilson's class is comprised of the midterm, final, and research paper. There are no assignments and attendance is not mandatory. Be warned though! Attend class if you want to do well on the exams, because his slides don't fully go into depth the way the exams require. Exams are all fill-in-the-blank or short answer. Loved his class!

Dr Wilson gave EXTREMELY clear instructions for what to study for his midterm & final exam, & the only other assignment was a research paper. He consistently reminded us that he was happy and available to help if we needed it, plus he's highly approachable and funny. We also got to flintknap and build a shelter! 10/10 loved this class & professor.

NOT RECOMMENDED. This class is absolutely awful. I took this class, last semester, Fall 2021. He does not show your grades until the end. The slides are awful, you can't take notes on them, contain mostly images. His exams are awful. Gives you a useless study guide and says "It's your responsibility to know these and that". EXAMS NOT OPEN NOTE.

This class was synchronous and graded material consisted of one midterm, one research paper and one cumulative final (all open note with ample time). Professor was very fair given the pandemic, lectures were entertaining, and he extended a "rain check" for knapping once school is in session again. Chill dude, chill class, learned a lot.

I've had Professor Wilson for 2 courses at UCSB, loved them both. He sets clear expectations for tests and class assignments. Lectures are very important and PowerPoints are not posted online. Be sure to take good notes. He encourages coming to office hours and can meet with students outside of these times in his lab. Study well for tests!

monotone teaching, not engaging in lecture, tested on very specific material.
