This class seems really intense at first, but quickly becomes a breeze to handle and very interesting. Lectures are straight forward, as he outlines what he wants you to know. Participation matters, but you are not punished for answering incorrectly. Homework load is decently light. Definitely one of the better Anth classes in my opinion.

Lots of reading every week. Very specific expectations so exams are memory only. Attendance required - only one excused and u gotta explain why, also u must participate every class. No tech allowed ever, only handwritten notes. Only take if u absolutely love the subject. Difficult class and not an understanding professor

Incredibly kind He encourages questions and always takes time to explain concepts clearly Doesn't tolerate any distractions or nonsense during class Lectures can be dense, and no tech allowed, but managable. The midterm and final are both essay-based and include concept definitions If you're willing to put in the effort you'll learn a lot from him
