This course teaches jazz technique focusing on warm-up principles, center practice, performance aesthetic and artistry. Various forms of jazz dance will be explored and contextualized against one another as we examine the historical underpinnings and ever changing style of this versatile and all American form of dance.

Not a particularly hard class. Only complaint is that there's no time given in-class to work on the group final, which made things difficult. However, the professor was pretty passionate on the subject, which is admirable. Really the only major issue was that the final can be kind of ambiguous.

Have not taken a jazz class prior to this. Fun sometimes but made me uncomfortable when calling individuals out multiple times.
