This course teaches ballet technique focusing on the concepts of barre practice and warm-up along with center adagio, petite allegro, grand allegro and areas of practice in turning and pirouettes for advanced and intermediate dancers. Analysis of placement for proper ballet form is emphasized along with artistry, strength and flexibility. Historical practices in ballet will be considered and contextualized against modern movements in ballet and the changing aesthetic of the form.
