Labor based contract so as long as you put in the effort, you will get an A in the class. Really nice guy and truly cares for his students.

This is the best writing class I've taken at UCSB. Prof. Dean is a really caring and passionate teacher. The class is easy and very, very, very interesting, and the workload isn't too much. He's such an amazing instructor and I can't say enough good things about him. I really hope he teaches more classes. Definitely take him if you get the chance.

Professor Dean is a great professor! He really cares about his students and makes succeeding in his class easy. There are two main writing assignments that make up your grade (along with attendance). As long as you show up ready to participate you should do well!

Chris really cares about his students. He encourages in class participation and classes go by quick when your talking a-lot. Really interesting and useful material that's very applicable to life. Brings candy to class everyday. Just a great dude
