Absolutely brilliant professor who is clearly in love with the subject. I learned so much in his neurobiology of brain states class. There is a ton of reading and very niche test questions on the reading, but it is doable.

Super easy. You are graded on showing up to lecture and completing the section assignments. That is it. He is also very nice.

Nice guy, difficult coding class. Spun a wheel with names to cold call. Weekly lab assignments were hard to follow/ understand and TA's weren't much help. Lectures were long and the prof would spend the three hours talking about theoretical topics that didn't relate much to the lab that week. Instead of R or python we used Mathematica.

I loved EVERYTHING about this class. The professor exudes passion, you can tell he really cares about his students and the subject material (which is unlike any other class you'll take at UCSB). The numerous articles to read are a lot, but they should serve as a challenge to help you get better at reading research articles. I would 100% do it again

Honestly one of the best professors I've had at UCSB. He is insanely smart and actually cares about the ideas behind the material. His class is super interesting, and you can really tell he knows his stuff. Great guy, great course, learned a ton. Super underrated.

Professor Janusonis is AMAZING! Genuinely one of the BEST profs I've had. So caring, wants his students to succeed. The material is SO interesting, GO TO LECTURE! If you don't, you'll miss out on his funny talks and miss his hints for exams. Exams are reasonable, just go to lecture, read the articles from the readers and you will do just fine.
