Absolutely brilliant professor who is clearly in love with the subject. I learned so much in his neurobiology of brain states class. There is a ton of reading and very niche test questions on the reading, but it is doable.

I loved EVERYTHING about this class. The professor exudes passion, you can tell he really cares about his students and the subject material (which is unlike any other class you'll take at UCSB). The numerous articles to read are a lot, but they should serve as a challenge to help you get better at reading research articles. I would 100% do it again

Honestly one of the best professors I've had at UCSB. He is insanely smart and actually cares about the ideas behind the material. His class is super interesting, and you can really tell he knows his stuff. Great guy, great course, learned a ton. Super underrated.

Professor Janusonis is AMAZING! Genuinely one of the BEST profs I've had. So caring, wants his students to succeed. The material is SO interesting, GO TO LECTURE! If you don't, you'll miss out on his funny talks and miss his hints for exams. Exams are reasonable, just go to lecture, read the articles from the readers and you will do just fine.

Professor Janusonis was the best Professor I've ever had. He is passionate about the topics and exposes you to things you would never learn. You have to read a lot but it is worth it if you are truly interested in the brain. I am forever grateful to Dr. Janusonis for what he taught us in this course. If you want an easy A, don't take this class.

There's only two exams. Imo the reader questions that are on the exams are very straightforward. Questions I missed were on the lecture material so make sure you attend lecture because he does mention test material that aren't explicitly stated in the slides since his slides are very minimal. Great professor to talk to in office hours! Very smart.
