Dr. Scroggin is the best math professor I've ever had. She is caring, hilarious, and has a genuine passion for math. There was a lot of homework and quizzes, but they were usually based on the content covered in the lecture and were pretty straightforward. Would 100% take her again in a heartbeat if given the chance.

dr. scroggin is a genuine teacher with great energy and a real love for math who truly cares about her students. this was my first math class at ucsb, and i wouldn't trade her for any other professor. she's engaging, helpful in office hours, and sets you up to succeed. just make sure you practice consistently to stay sharp.

Good lectures and answers questions well. Very easy going and keeps the class interesting and HW and lecture materials isn't too dissimilar from the tests. Gracious with points on exams and grades through errors. Has lots of office hours and was willing to stay overtime to answer questions. Overall great professor and loved the class.

MATH4B . Scroggin T 4 Months Ago

I appreciated her grading! However, her lectures were confusing. I was better off studying on my own. She allowed a rewrite for the midterm which was generous and she truly cares for the class and students, she just wasn't good for me. I would recommend taking another 4B prof if possible.

Honestly the best math prof I've had at UCSB. She was a very engaging lecturer; you could tell she wanted all of her students to succeed. Her midterm was pretty light, and her final exam was definitely a lot more difficult but fair. Loved having her as my prof and would take a class with her again

Such a cool and funny professor who wants you to succeed. She messes up on notes often but responds to emails fast. Homework after every lecture is doable and more comparable to tests than what we do in lecture. Midterm was chill and she offered rewrite for more points! Final was a curveball but fair and graded more leniently! Would take again
