Goes pretty fast in lecture but is quite accommodating in grading and answers questions whenever asked. Midterm & final were both fair. Material definitely gets tougher towards the end of the course, it is essential to stay on top of the work and not fall behind. HW is graded but he drops the lowest score. If you have a good TA the class is doable

Very unclear lectures. Talks and writes super fast and expects people to immediately understand what he is going over. Tends to spend more time on easier material, then flies past complex topics. Only got through class because of the TA.

MATH8 . Lam Kelvin 1 Year, 1 Month Ago

Very willing to answer questions and make concepts clear within lectures, but at times he goes fast which is a little difficult to follow. He is helpful and accessible, and nice with final grades (curved the average final course grade for Math 8 up to an 80).

Really friendly professor, easy to talk to in office hours and within class. Listens and implements feedback and is very generous when it comes to grading. Cares a lot about the class and made learning the material engaging and fun!

MATH2B . Lam Kelvin 27 Days Ago

The professor is really chill, but during lectures it can be hard to keep up with the material you are learning. It is also hard to read his notes at times. The professor is nice and does care about the students, but the lecture is the main source of information. If you struggle with learning concepts on your own, then you might struggle.

Don't skip lecture, its the only way to know what you need to know. Homework is lengthy and worth 30% of your grade. Practice midterms and finals are the most important, they are nearly identical to the actual exams. Hes a nice person and understanding, will drop assignments and give extensions pretty often. Not hard but gotta put in the work.
