Using a variety of different organizational lenses (e.g. culture, team, or agent), students think through how social identity issues materialize in modern organizational policy and practice. Course materials encourage students to take the role of diverse organizational agents as they face ethical dilemmas in examining contemporary social identities such as ability, gender, race, class, and age. Students can expect a variety of theory and application integration through class discussion, reflective andanalytic writing assignments and a final project. Students identify issues of organizational power, policy, and practice, particularly as they may result in disparate material consequences of economic health and well-being

Pandey is one of my favorite professors here at UCSB. He really cares about his students and wants them to succeed. If you put in the work you will get a good grade in this class and I have found it helpful to now have a basic understanding of python. Definitely recommend!

Professor Pandey currently is my favorite professor at ucsb. He combines his humor in class well and his in class labs helps to understand the poltical world. Graded on in class labs and discussion board and quizzes each week. very easy if you read chapter per week. Final Project at the end that is not difficult if you have willing group mates.

Pandey makes something overwhelming like data science + Python coding into something that anyone could understand and maybe even enjoy. I had 0 data science or coding experience before this class. The way that he teaches makes it not scary or overwhelming at all and he could not be nicer. TAKE THIS CLASS!

This is one of my favorite COMM classes I've taken at UCSB! Content was really interesting and relevant, and Prof Pandey was super engaging during lectures. The group project was structured well in my opinion and he also gives out A+s. Super nice and encourages students to come to office hours. Would totally take again!

Kanu is such a kinda and considerate professor. It was his first time teaching the course but he was a great teacher and I learned a lot. Very approachable and the exams were very doable and similar to the study guide. Not a lot of work outside of class and the final group project was not as intimidating as it seemed!
