Prof. Merolla is an AMAZING lecturer, path to an A is clear in this class. exams were all MCQ and very fair, he curves and drops questions, one big theory paper that was worked on throughout the quarter. super engaging lectures, some flipped lectures, can't recommend him enough, great content, opened my eyes to the field of comms.

Best professor ever!! He is so entertaining and upbeat! Definitely cares about all of his students and wants to see them do well. I did not feel overloaded with work in this class and was excited to go to lecture everyday. One 6-7 page paper due at end of quarter, but super easy. Very easy to do well if you attend class!

Hands down the best professor I've ever had. I took him for both COMM 88 and 89 and would absolutely take his class again. Study well for the tests but I seriously have no complaints about his classes. Visit office hours, he's a yapper and loves to talk to students. With Comm 88 being my first class of the day in my first quarter, Professor Merolla made joining this school way less intimidating. The times I went to office hours were super helpful and the homework actually felt useful in understanding the concept of research. I'd definitely take his class again and am hoping to do so in the future!

I loved taking Professor Merolla's COMM89 class! The class was engaging, with in-person and video lectures and a TA section, although the final paper was worth 40% of your grade. A textbook is not required for purchase; it is provided as a PDF on Canvas. If you plan on taking COMM89, I 100% WILL TAKE IT AGAIN!
