GEOG3 . Walker I J 7 Months Ago

Midterm easier than final if you memorize all sample exam questions. Final was cooked. Weekly section assignments take so much time and work, my TA was a tough grader for no reason (Nel Sepulveda). I ended with a C+ and Walker ended up rounding to B-. He's a really cool and nice guy just not an easy GE like I thought. Take Pass/No Pass if u can.

Prof. Walker engaged with his students during lectures and taught in-depth class material. He wouldn't go too fast during his lectures which was very helpful when taking notes and retaining the information. Most of your grade is participation in section assignments which are labs. I would recommend this class for an easy GE.

The course is taught with pretty low effort, the section is required attendance but literally treated like a study hall. Big waste of time. I think Professor Walker is funny and I like him as a person but it sucks that this is a required course for the Geog major.......

Would not recommend this professor, he is not a good teacher and incredibly hard to reach. His tests are incredibly vague, and there is a reason people get a lower grade in his course when he teaches.

Don't listen to any of the other reviews because Geo 3 with this prof is one of the WORST classes. He clearly puts very little time into the lecture material/tests and just copies master slide decks from previous courses. There is a reason why the grade average goes down when he teaches the course, and it's because he SUCKS at teaching.

Such a fun class. Took this class during the strike and Walker was supportive of his TA's, but did not let the students suffer, he stepped up big time. Really caring for his students and passionate about climate change too!
