Super interesting GE and Professor Park's lectures are passionate and funny. The class is very lecture and reading-heavy and you have three tests throughout the quarter (no final). She tried to make grading consistent among all the TAs but some of them were harsher graders and some were more willing to give you points back if you talked to them.

Very manageable work load and interesting material! The professor is very nice and she shows lots of interesting films in the class. 3 midterms but no final and you can bring in a page of notes. Definitely would take her again!

super chill and leniant on grading. Her TAs are also cool. She does sometimes open a response on canvas at the end of lecture to make sure students stayed. No final but 3 midterms.

I loved this class. Professor Park is passionate and the way she structures lecture make it so you need to go to do well in the class (lots of in class q's) but they're engaging and not super dense- showed some cool films! 3 pretty simple exams and no final, readings are heavy but super interesting! Would def recommend if you need ethnicity!

this class was a really nice GE to take! definitely a lot of tedious readings but it is doable. you have to read 3 books and for each book there is an exam but the exam is free response. you also get a cheat sheet for each exam. there is no final. your grade on exams depends on your TA, so if they're nice, they grade easily.

This was one of my favorite classes, easy A for the ethnicity req. Prof Park is so knowledgeable and involved, lectures were fascinating & really opened up my thinking. Weekly assignments are easy but the readings themselves can be super long, plus 2 exams (not bad) & a final creative project that I really enjoyed. Depth of material was incredible.
