ENGL115 . Blurton H F 1 Year, 2 Months Ago

Professor Blurton had interesting lectures, and I enjoyed hearing what she had to say, but it seems like she really did not understand the subtext of a lot of books. Reading the books myself did not match at all with what she said. The final exam also requires so much studying- make sure you actually read the texts or it'd be near impossible.

I loved Professor Burton!! Taking Tales of Love was genuinely one of the best classes I've ever taken at UCSB. I found her lectures so engaging and interesting and the readings themselves were very fun! There was never a moment where I walked out of class thinking I didn't learn anything. Definitely recommend!!!!!!

I loved taking Tales of Love with Professor Blurton! She does not provide any slides/notes on Canvas, so you should go to every lecture. Her lectures were incredibly interesting and engaging, and the readings were fun. She was very accessible outside of class, and eager to discuss questions or opinions about readings. Grading depends on your TA.

FR 50AX. Amazing professor, great insights into each reading, be prepared to read a lot. Even if you don't complete the reading that week, make sure you go over it before the essay. Grading is based on 3 essays (45%), participation in section (20%) and final (35%). Essays occur ~ every 3 weeks. Attendance not mandatory, but slides are not posted.

ENGL110A . Blurton H F 2 Years Ago

Make sure to attend class, as she doesn't post what the class covered online. Blurton is super nice and her class is relatively straightforward, but the content is pretty boring and it was difficult to pay attention sometimes. Note down/remember a few main points for each topic/text covered and you should be fine.

Bad class. Lectures basically worthless, you're on your own in understanding the texts. Worst English class I've taken. Knew it wasn't going to be good cuz it's medieval stuff but I was not ready for how poorly run it would truly be.
