Class is not easy but you'll learn a lot. Textbook use is very low, just study the slides and take good notes and you will do find. Most importantly, try to switch to a good TA,cause a bad TA in this class can really screw you over (can't give names )
His voice is so monotone and I had trouble staying awake in his class. Overall, don't buy the textbook cause you never need it. He puts all powerpoint slides on website so that was helpful.
Don't buy the book, you won't use it. Tests are all from his lecture slides, though there were a couple of concepts on there I don't remember learning. It might've been cuz I fell asleep from his monotone voice. Very hard to pay attention unless you're sitting in the front. Also, didn't have good TA's this year, so that didn't help. Overall: okay.
Stills is a good teacher. His tests are all from his powerpoints so theres no need to buy a textbook. He doesn't curve the class which is the only hard part of the class. I recommend taking a class with him.
The material was really fun, 15% of our grade was a cartoon we had to draw after visiting the Natural History Museum! Extra credit was always available and the field trips were awesome! Really fun class. This class seemed to be super easy and I thought I knew all the material forwards and backwards, but I ended up with a B
Chris=cool but expects alot. Geog3A/B don't suffice for 167 in my opinion. I really enjoyed writing the final paper. Sara B is not fast paced enough and section was useless. Go to lecture and take solid notes. Exams=fair but you BETTER study. 2nd half of class easier than 1st. Seems like most people had a decent bio/eco background. I got a C.
Good class. I learned a lot. The field trips were fun. Still is kinda hard to follow but there were a lot of guest lecturers which made things interesting. Good class, good professor.
Still does have a very monotone voice, but if you enjoy learning then you'll like his classes, I learned a lot of interesting things. He covers everything you need to know in lectures and the tests are multiple choice.
Prof. Still is so awesome. As long as you go to class and pay attention the tests are super easy but you do have to study. If you find anything interesting about this class take it because it has been the best geography class I have taken yet!
still talks really fast and goes through his powerpoints really fast. can't keep up with him but fortunately all of his lecture notes are online. just study off of them and go to review sessions. it would help a lot if you had TED as your TA. he helps you with lab and tests.
easy class if you pay attention in lecture. No need to buy the book because he only tests from lecture, which he also posts on the web to review. Fairly interesting material.
His lectures can be quite boring, just because his voice is kinda monotone. The material pretty interesting, although some of it can get on the boring side. Ted is a cool and helpful TA. Good class overall. Trying to stay awake is just kind of a struggle with this guy.
This class is pretty boring but he has good powerpoint slides, he goes through them really fast though so it is smart to print them out from the website beforehand. He also talks kind of monotone but Ted the TA is awesome!
he is soooooo boring, you wil be so ored that it will be impossible to concentrate and plus he talks way too fast to be able o write anything down. AVOID!!!!
Youll do fine in this class if you just study the material, esp the review sheets he gives you (almost all test ?s come from them)...lectures are pretty clear if a bit boring
i liked the powerpoint lectures. and the material is reviewed often enough in lecture which'll help you understand/remember it better. labs are great at clarifying lecture material.
