Didn't grade my work for 6 weeks. Assigned a ton of reading which was easy for me to understand but if you haven't taken a Middle East Studies class your probably gonna be confused

Loved Professor Moores's class! Lectures are extremely informative and she is a pretty easy/ fair grader I'd say. She does assign a lot of reading and she wasn't very on top of grading but other than that she's great! And she always gets back to emails within a couple of hours and is very accommodating due to classes being online.

Prof Moore is very nice and very knowledgeable in the subject matter, but with online school (covid) the class consisted of one video a week and a lot of reading. I felt that the material was too complicated to be left to self-studying, and I had difficulty understanding it. I wouldn't recommend taking an online class with her, wait for in person!

Nice professor, but the lectures were not that great, and would talk/overexplain certain subjects to death. Tough Grader. Weird expectations for essays, and can be condescending when giving advice.

I took many of professor Moores rgst islam courses. She is a very reasonable grader, and expects you to participate and get your stuff done. You dont need books for her classes to be honest. She understand we have other stuff in college and works with you to pass. Would definitely take again. Honestly I give her a 4.35 easily.

She reads the slides and her notes, so it is hard to stay awake for the lecture. Midterm and Final can bring one-page (two sided) note. four papers (400-600 words).

The materials are boring unless you're interested in religion and politics. One midterm and one final with one-page (double sided) note. The exams are not hard. You just need to answer all questions. The format could be essay or short answers which is depended on you. 4 papers (400-600 words). extra credit can be easily earned by showing up.

Professor Moore presented her lectures from slides and if you review all the slides and handouts then you should get a good grade. I felt like I wasn't allowed to have my own thoughts in this class...she basically wants you to rebuttal everything from class. My TA was Adam and he was great, get him. I Got an A. Do ALL the reading, take good notes.

Very intelligent lady who loves her subject matter which makes her hard to understand sometimes because she uses extremely large words all strung together in one sentence. Also lecture is hard to stay awake in because its her talking for an hour.

Professor seems like she doesn't know how to lecture, which is odd considering shes a professor. Lecutres are boring, alot of reading, some of which is interesting. TA is geat(theres only one)

Interesting teacher, class had great content, but she has a penchant for assigning unnecessary reading and useless reaction papers that do not have anything to do with the lengthy essay you write for a final. If you don't like 10 pg papers do not take her class. P.S. Skip the last few films of the class. you're not missing anything

Interesting course, decent professor. She won't change your life but she's jovial and likes what she's talking about. Decent amount of reading but not too hard. Sends out Powerpoints after lecture. Tries to make the class interesting with films and Youtube videos. Tests are pretty straightforward and not too hard if you study and pay attention.

Professor Moore is an excellent teacher. Her lectures are clear and her midterms and quizes are extremely fair. The readings she assigns are not that bad and you definitely need to know them for the exams. She shows a lot of movies which definitely help keep your interest in the subject. Great professor!

Go to lecture. Do the readings because you need to use the material for the midterm/final. the exams were very lengthy, blue book. But the material is pretty interesting. This class will be hard if you don't read. But what really helps is a TA who grades easy. I had a hard one and that screwed me up.

Material was interesting for me since I'm pre-lawso, but her lectures are a bit boring. Important to do all the readings, which are a lot! Tests are a lot of writng. However it's a pretty easy class if your interseted in the subject. Also, getting a good TA is key!

She's a cool person. Lectures aren't riveting, but they're not bad at all. Even though the essay questions on the tests seem straightforward, make sure to have a thesis/argument in your answer. The class and material aren’t hard. What counts is your essays on tests, how much you read and your understanding of the books and cases. Remember all cases!

Cathy is GREAT! She is very understanding and willing to work with students. I heard horrible things before I had the pleasure of taking her classes and I still dont understand their foundation. She is super nice, educated and helpfull. Classes are easy A's if you arent **** the entire quarter.Dont hate the player, you all earned your bad grades

Professor Moore is definitly well educated on the topics she talks about but her grading is completely illogical. You could write a correct answer on a test but she would mark it wrong because it did not include certian phrase or word she was looking for!

Her lectures can get kinda boring but overall she is good about covering the material so even if you don't do the reading you won't be too lost. The grading curve kinda sucks though.

I only got through this class because the material was about stuff I was interested in. I had a 98% in the class and got a A- because of her really illogical curve. Only take class if everyone else is dumb.

She is straight forward about the material and always available for help and questions. People give her bad ratings since she is somewhat boring, but her classes are mellow. She is approachable and she is the Chair of the dept for goodness sake. Get on her goodside and get a rec letter from the Chair!!!

She is by far one of the worst teacher I have had at UCSB. She never seemed interested in the material she was teaching so it was hard for me to be interested as well. DO NOT LET HER DISCOURAGE YOU FROM BEING A LAWSO MAJOR!
