Professor Hegarty is such an amazing and caring professor. Really understanding, quizzes and exams aren't too hard and overall very fair, lectures are clear and straightforward. Likes to interact with her students.
Lectures are clear (but you still have to read the textbook if you want to get good grades in the exams), and materials and experiments are pretty interesting. Prof. Hegarty cares about her students outside class. You can tell that she doesn't want her students' life to be difficult. Definitely take her PSY108.
Clear professor and real interesting material. Lectures can be quite brutal to go through sometimes, but she really knows her stuff. Also pretty accommodating and really cares for her students!
Professor Hegarty was a great professor! She's clear about what she expects and tests fairly. Go to lecture and read the textbook and you should do great! She's also really approachable, passionate about the subject, and always willing to help outside of class. Grades are based on weekly quizzes, zaps, and tests.
So, um, you know, she was, you know, was a pretty good, um, a pretty good professor, but, um, you know, uh, um, a lot of, um, a lot of time was, um, wasted because she, um, you know, um, needed, you know, like a, uh, speech coach, or um, something like that, but um, everything else was great. So seriously, good class, but she needed a transcript
Unclear during lectures which makes it hard to learn the material well enough for exams. Exams are very long so know all the material. Has extra credit but other than that, hard professor. Retook this class with a different professor and got a straight A. Just shows how horrible she is.
I enjoyed her lecture slides they were straight forward for the most part since I ended up not going to like, half the lectures. Don't recommend that since Hegarty started to notice. Weekly quizzes, midterm final, that's it. Study your ass off since the class is very potent. GauchoSpace is used for question forum which is helpful for answering Q's.
super sweet lady who gives weekly online quizzes that have questions straight from the book that she includes on exams, her tests are super straightforward and don't beat around the bush and if you read the chapters and study her lectures (she puts the highlights of the chapters on them), you'll do super well!
I hated this class. Prof Hegarty is such a dry lecturer, I don't think I was able to pay attention through a whole lecture past week 3. I got a B+ in the class and I really think I could have done much better (the tests really weren't that hard) but I had a hard time with motivation for this class bc I hated the material so much
Incomprehensible content was given while she lectured. Inaudible speeches with plenty of stutters. Read as much as you can and do the extra credit or else you will be hammered by her exams.
She certainly is not the professor you wanna choose if u would like someone makes sense or speak clear. As an international students I couldnt understand what she is talking about most of the time. The test was okay I guess? But u need to really understand the material. She is nice as a person and professor but not good at teaching to my opinion.
Unclear at in her lectures. Grade is based only on a midterm and final with an opportunity for 2 extra credit assignments. Lectures did not help when it comes to learning the material for the exams. Read the textbook to pass this class. But personally, I would avoid this class at all costs.
Good professor. Maybe not the best lecturer but always available outside of class. Study hard, read the book, and attend lecture!
I read the entire textbook from beginning to end and attended all her lectures, yet I still found the exams to be unreasonable. She's very spacey, monotone, &makes easy material confusing. Office hours and review sessions often confused students even more. Sometimes I even wondered if she understood the material herself. AVOID THIS PROFESSOR.
I don't love her as a professor (she's dull and doesn't seem confident in her presentations) but her TA Alex made this course way better. He is awesome and passionate about you and the topic. This is a chill course to take for your lab requirement, just not all that interesting even if you enjoy cognitive/memory research. Don't have to buy a book!
Never went to a single lecture, but read the crap out of my textbook and lecture slides for an A-. DO THE EXTRA CREDIT.
Hegarty is passionate about her subject, but she comes off very monotone and hushed during lecture. Either the lecture or the book by themselves will get you a good grade on the tests, but she encourages students to think of examples themselves (extra credit assignments) so you'll be prepared for anything that might come up. Very interesting class!
Hegarty definitely seemed to know her material and she presented with poise. She was a little quiet and at times confusing. I did not appreciate how she only gave one midterm and one final. It was not an easy course.
Extremely boring lecture. She reads straight off of her slides that don't go in depth enough to prepare you for your exams. Entire grade is one midterm and one final. Tests are written really poorly but you'll pass if you put in the work. Definitely not a fun class or "easy A".
Very stupid seminar. Learned absolutely nothing except that Spatial Reasoning can be applied to 10 different fields. BS the essay at the end and you have yourself a passing grade. And a waste of 10 weeks.
Super nice professor. At times lectures got boring, but she explains material well and gives plenty of examples. Midterms and final are mostly based on her lecture notes. Although final is cumulative it is fair. Study her lecture notes!!
took her for cognitive, great teacher! fun class, lectures online but lecture isnt boring. definitely dont take her before 10 am but besides that shes worth it. and read the book, alot of the material is slides but shes in the book and uses it on tests
Great and interesting lectures. She is well-spoken and has good examples of each point she makes which makes the class easy to follow. The class had two h.w assignments (short papers), a midterm and a final. The midterm and final were very easy as long as you listened in class. reading is helpful but not mandatory.
Fairly good lecturer. Passionate about her subject, makes cog psych more interesting. Fair tests (rather easy) and fair grading. She does cover a lot of material in her lectures AND the textbook, so be prepared to read/study a little! Cumulative final. Overall good teacher. Learned a lot!
