He's actually pretty enthusiastic about everything. He's funny at times, and actually makes sense. His tests are pretty hard which shows with his low test score averages.

Well besides his peculiar voice, christoffersen’s a nice guy, even funny at some points, but his lectures just drag on, all he does is show you pictures on PowerPoint, yet on the all tests we are expected to solve long dreary problems w/ logs and ratios just by looking at those pics and going to a 1 hr discussion a week. I’m just glad I’m over w/ t
He's possibly one of the most arrogant teachers I've ever had! Not helpful at all and constantly talks down to his students. He didn't email me for 3 days, so I asked him the question in person and he said "check your email" and walked away. A total jerk, annoying ass voice, and tricky tests. Be careful!
he was, to put it lightly, a JERK! he did not do a good job of clearly presenting the material. At one review session someone raised their hand to ask a question he singled them out and humiliated them, When someone made an effort to answer a question and was wrong, he responded with, "wow, who said that? That was stupid!" avoid him if you can.
Most helpful and technologically proficient prof I have ever had. Extremely nice and concerned about your acquisition of the covered material, which needs to be studied carefully. I am surprised by the # of negative reviews. Interesting humor in lectures as well.
the first 2 parts of the class arent too bad, got an 85 and 100 on the first 2 tests, then absolutely failed rolf's part of the midterm and will end up with a B with the curve :( he says he wont trick you, unless its on accident... he must have a lot of accidents. if you can avoid his class, do it.
i thought he was great and this was the most interesting part of bio. take CLAS if ur stuck but hes really friednly and funny, tries to be helpful. Actuaully made me WANT to take upper div genetics and look into grad schools for it!
ummmmm ya. Rolf, u honestly have me lost. The rest of mcdb 1a was not bad until genetics. I mean he seems nice, but also he seems to want to make things more difficult than they could be. Rushes through things.... I fear for upper division genetics.
I had him as one of the 3 prof's that teach this class. He was an average prof at UCSB . .. that is good with reasearch and bad with teaching. He like to pick on people to ask Q's, so don't sit near him or straight ahead.
This class it not an easy 'A', esp the material towards the end. Rolf does not try to be anybodies friend but I think that he did a pretty effective job teaching the material. The voice does get to you, though.
Wrote me a letter of rec that had the wrong name in the "form letter" second paragraph. Sure that helped me get into grad school...
