Very helpful and willing to answer any questions students have during lecture. Homework is long, but helpful and applicable to what you will be tested on. Practice tests are very similar to the test and he goes over the practice tests in depth before the test day. Would definitely take Professor Ricci again!
Really nice professor, he considers for students' grades. His policy was so helpful in getting an A and the course material was helpful for exams.
Very approachable guy, always willing to help. He gives practice exams are helpful to prepare for the exams. As long as you keep up with the homework and sections you will be good.
he tried hard to make sure we did good, the lectures were fine, but the textbook questions were helpful, so were sections. he structured the class well!
He really cares about making sure everyone succeeds. The midterms were very similar to the practices, and the homeworks were long but helpful. Math8 is meant to be a really difficult class but he made it fun and easier to understand.
Fabio is the most caring teacher I met at UCSB. I will take his courses again absolutely!
So far, hes been a really good professor, gave us a very clear outline for what would be on the midterms and finals. Practice tests were extremely helpful, they were pretty much identical to what was on the actual tests with slight modifications to the problems.
No regrets taking this class. Professor was funny and cared about helping students work to receive the grade they desire if they are willing to reach out and participate. Overall really good experience with him this quarter!
Good amount of helpful homework, really cares ab his students, was passionate about math! I didn't find it too difficult to get an A as long as I did the homework and the practice midterm/finals
Fabio is an outstanding instructor who truly cares about his students learning and success. He is very clear about grading and wants us all to get an A. His practice tests are very similar to the real thing and he is always open to questions and takes the time to ensure students grasp the material fully.
He gives a good amount of practice midterms and a practice final similar to the actual midterms and final. He also lets us redo homework to give us grades we're satisfied with. You can tell he wants us to do well and emphasizes learning over grades.
Really Good instructor. Practice midterm and final before the real tests. highly recommend.
Fabio is a super great professor. He always posts the lecture notes on canvas and gives the practice before each midterm and final. Overall it isn't a hard course.
Very easy. Highly recommend. Very friendly and tries to help students in every way possible.
Took him summer session B. He gave a lot of partial credit on exams which saved my grade bc they were hard. Be prepared to do a lot of self studying!! Strong accent and handwriting is not good. This class was hard because of the material and because of the way he taught so be prepared to do a LOT of self st
I don't know what to write about him. Two finals is crazy and no proper study guide. I could not understand his handwriting. This class is mostly tests heavy and he randomly asks questions from his lecture notes and expects us to write it down correctly. Would definitely not take him again. I learned more from the TAs and by self study. I
I could barely read his handwriting during lectures and I could not even understand him with his strong accent. Gave us TWO CUMULATIVE finals which was mentally exhausting. Prepare to do a lot of self studying! this was a very stressful experience that no one should have to go through. Super unfair that Session A had to only take one final!
Just saw the previous rate. In Session A math 6A, Ricci was/is a great professor. He made it excruciatingly clear what was going to be on the midterm and final. We had a two part final and the second part he gave a free 20% basically. The prev rating was from Session B where the students are low ki bad, I saw the review of the midterm, was not good
Math 6a during summer. Worst teacher I have ever had in UCSB. Avoid him !!! Strong accent, with no logic lecture. Confused exam
Fabio is truly willing to help students succeed. I took MATH4B over the summer, and it was difficult slamming 6 weeks of differential equations into my brain over zoom. Fortunately, Fabio was willing to zoom one-on-one with me during office hours or late at night to help me with homework and exam preparation. His passion for math is admirable.
I took Math 4B Differential Equations with prof. Ricci in summer 2021 and it was my favorite course so far at UCSB! His lectures were very thorough and clear; he provided detailed examples and he was always accessible when we needed further clarification. Additionally, he was very accomodating & allowed for HW extensions when needed. A must take :)
Seems like a good guy, and is lenient on grading the exams.
Doesn't Curve and says rounding up (Ex: 81.1% to 82% is generous). Avoid if possible.
