The exams dont reflect the in class material and you cant review questions afterward so you dont know what you did wrong. Homework is unforgiving since you only get two chances to get it right or you lose all points. Terrible

hi lint barrage, you seem like a nice, intelligent woman. Now PLEASE take this constructive criticism and fix your teaching. Seems like the odds are intentionally stacked against me in this class and I need a good grade to stay in my major :////

From the few lectures we've been presented she seems like she does respond to feedback.. I hope she'll be able to take people's criticism. The midterms are incredibly tough. No practice material given. 1 chance for homework when it should be for learning. Lecture slides long. Textbook monotonous but must to be read to find 1 detail not in lecture.

Part of me feels bad that this prof is getting ripped apart in these rating, but this class is literally the worst thing i have ever experienced. I used to believe I was a good student yet she is making me want to drop out of school. During a pandemic, we need a prof to try to help us learn and improve instead of setting us up for failure and tears

I've never rated a professor before but after the midterm I felt like I had to. This class has made me go from loving economics to hating it which is terrible for a student, and for a teacher, she must be furthering peoples interest in economics, not crushing it. The level of difficulty of her tests for an entry level class is unheard of.

gauchospace had a ton of trouble during our first midterm&everyone failed. Luckily she gave us a retake HOWEVER she made it 100x harder only to take our lower score... oh and NO CURVE !! during a pandemic this is the last thing I needed to give me crippling depression. Losing faith in the Econ department and UCSB for hiring this incompetent prof...

So far, this has been the hardest class I have taken at UCSB and it's not even close (and I've taken numerous classes that are considered to be much harder than econ2)! Tests are absolutely insane. I would be SHOCKED if she doesnt curve or make the tests easier in the future.

You dont want to do or be anything. You dont really want to die, but you never wanted to exist. You lose motivation because no matter how hard you try it just seems like things wont get better. Thats what taking this class with Lint makes me feel like

This class is outrageous, the tests are near impossible because of the level of difficulty and time constraint. Not to mention tests make up over 60% of your final grade. The content on the tests is like nothing you will find in practice problems or study plans in the program that we were forced to purchase at the beginning of the year for $100.

Wow taking her class really made me question if I was a good student or not. Ive studied for several days, went to all the sections and CLAS, and did all her insane hw and ended up with a D+ on the midterm and didnt have enough time to finish either. my parents are berating me why Im failing this class and idk what to tell them.

The tests are INSANE!!! The wording is weird and questions are super long. There are even questions where you have to choose multiple answers, which makes the tests excessively difficult. Will never take her class again.

The most difficult class I have taken at SB, HANDS DOWN. The tests are literally impossible and her lectures, the reading, and practice quizzes from the textbook do absolutely nothing to help. I fully have never done so poorly in a class. I spend hours studying for the tests but it is no use. If I could give her a 0/5 rating I would. Good Luck!

Well Ive finally lost my virginity! Lint Barrages midterms and homework bent me over and had its way with me! Was so unexpected and nonconsensual.

Shes very organized and good at teaching. Her tests are a little hard because of the time constraints but other than that shes a great professor

only take this class if you are prepared for impossible tests that she doesnt prepare you at all for. lectures are completely unhelpful and the chapter textbook readings and test questions also dont align. Doesnt give practice questions or exams and doesnt care that more than half the class is failing. WORST IVE HAD & NO CURVE

IMPOSSIBLE TESTS, worded super weirdly. Test average for first mid-term was probably 70% (don't know one person that got above a 90). She just needs to stick to the textbook and ask questions on material we have covered!

she should just go by the book and not make up her own material. its impossible to get a passing grade in her class. no curve and the tests/hw quizzes are ridiculously tough and long with little time to work. she goes through lecture really fast because she has to go over all her useless info

tbh its not professor barrages fault that Econ 2 is terrible with her. its ucsbs fault for allowing an incompetent, pretentious, inattentive, and absolutely uncaring professor to take over a class of 500+ students online. my GPA hurts, but I am just disappointed

I wish i took this class with Birchenhall or honestly any other professor. The material isnt hard but she makes it confusing and way too complicated. Everyone gets Fs on the exams and she DOESNT CURVE.

In Econ 1 you have to take a 10 MCQ test in 60 mins. In this class you have to take a 25 question multiple part, fill in the blank, select all that apply, and MCQ test in 75 mins. Also, you get 2 tries for each homework problem. Get it wrong and you get no credit for that problem. No curves. Posts lectures late. Pros? Uhhh..... Yeah, Good luck!

Don't take this class if you actually want to learn, it's just frustrating. The hw is more like a quiz than anything, you get two tries to get it right or else you get marked off and there's no feedback to help you understand. The tests are unrealistic considering it's a virtual class, and the questions are barely discussed in class.

Yeah I can definitively say that Lint is and will be the worst teacher/professor in my entire academic career by a landslide. Thank her for grading harshly on the midterm+HW and making several typos on her horribly constructed homework system. She can make you hate a subject that you were genuinely interested in!

Don't take Econ 2 with Lint Barrage, just don't. Honestly how she's set up the grading with HW that penalizes you for trying to learn and her midterms, don't take ANY class with her. Even though our midterm crashed (GrEaT iDEa having 600 kids on at the same time), the midterm was way too difficult and long anyways.

For all that is good and holy, dont take this class with Lint. Midterms and Homework are way too difficult and only have 75 min to finish 25+ questions. Id rather wait three extra quarters to take this class again with a different professor than spend another minute in her useless lectures. Cant even review problems Ive missed either.
