Gotta cut him some slack. He's a great professor for a first-year post doc. The 20% homework, 30 midterm and 50 final is a bit rough, but he did add 10% to the midterm raw scores for the "curve." Average ended up being around 85 post-curve, so I'd consider it fair. Helpful during office hours and responds to emails, and a really nice guy
Khan Academy is way more helpful.
Teaching matrix by simply using handwriting on the board which is unable to see behind the fifth rows. Don't expect to understand concepts by attending the lecture because he only makes things harder. You have to do a lot of self-study. Tests comparing to lectures and homework are way too difficult but lucky he curved a lot.
