Very good professor, made the material clear and went out of his way to make sure everyone got the best grade by making you highest midterm account for more points. He was also super easy to contact, if I sent him an email he usually always responded within an hour.
Prof. Ebrahim explains stuff from different angles and perspectives. He offers different grading options to make up our highest grade. Prof. Ebrahim is really approachable and he responds to email really fast. The quizzes and tests are easy if you just pay a little attention to his lecture.
Not a good prof. Hes new but still.. the way he explains things isnt the most efficient and understandable. He overcomplicates seemingly basic material and just makes it hella confusing. If youve taken calc its all good but for people like me who havent, its still a struggle even with extra tutoring and help from others
I don't blame Professor Ebrahim for the horrendous textbook that is offered for Math 34A yet his lectures could've supplemented more examples or additional tips and advice on how to gauge through the course. There is plenty of points one can get from iClickers, online assignments, dropping the lowest score(s) for each category. Overall, not bad.
The man is a good professor and by all means reasonable. He is obviously passionate about math and often philosophical at times which made the class interesting.
He is a really nice person. I took his math 3a, he gave us 4 grading policies and chose the highest one as your grade. He is a nice professor who want you to get a better grade.
LOTS of proofs in class. Alot of exam material is not taught in class but you use what you learned in class to solve. Overall he's a great professor and I wish I had him this quarter. Homework is a huge chunk of your grade and boosts it a ton. Ebrahim teaches really well and makes sure you understand everything (not just memorize).
The class was easy as long as you pay attention and do your work you should get an easy A. He gave excellent lectures which were easy to understand on top of that he was always willing to help you out outside of class. Really good professor
He is a very smart man. I think this was his first time teaching so his teaching was a bit unorganized. People who took AP Calc in high school are the main ones who think this class is easy. Let's be honest, most of the time you will be teaching yourself all throughout college so learning a bit on your own for this class will NOT HURT. easy class.
He goes through LOTS of material but is very good at explaining. There's also plenty of resources and he holds great office hours to help you. Offers up to 10% Extra Credit! As long as you attend all his classes, do his homework and extra credit, and go to office hours, you should definitely do fine. He offers 4 grading options to help you.
I only went to the lecture 4 times: the first lecture, midterms and final, but I still got an A. The materials are easy.
He wants all students get A in his class (last quarter there were 50% students got A). No curve down in his class. If you finish all homework and practice problems for test, it is easy to get an A.
easy if you go to clas and do the practice he gives for the exams
Mostly self study. Good man tho.
A very good man. Gives bonus(9) points on final. He really hopes everyone get an A (turns out half the class get an A) and gives four grading options to improve our grade. Don't need to show up on lectures, just go to half of the sections and you will get full participation points.
Awful at teaching
Giving Good grade Easy A Take it
Good prof. Easy A course. Take it!
I didnt show up to 90% of lectures and was still able to get an A in the class. Hes not the best lecturer but his exams are easy and straightforward. Keep up with the homework and understand basic key concepts and youll be successful!
Don't bother attending lectures because the notes are posted online, and you'll just leave more confused than when you entered. He's not great at teaching (a little too smart), but isn't a bad guy at all. The tests and quizzes weren't as hard as expected, and he's generous with the grading. There's a lot of HW, but at least it's 30% of your grade.
Gives homework that is due before every lecture (so like 3 times a week). Gave us a few different grading schemes and said he will use whatever will help our grade the most and that was really nice of him. However, his lectures mostly go over what the textbook says and the textbook he chose was really confusing. Tests are a easy-ish.
This professor is extremely smart, but too smart for anyone else's benefit. Seems to confuse himself at times during lecture, makes up his own notation, finding resources/help outside the class is nearly impossible, his lectures/notes don't prepare you for the tests at all. Offers extra credit but material from it is from upper div math, good luck.
I agree that EE's class was tough and his teaching (at times) poor. But I think everyone can agree that EE provided us with many helpful resources t/out the quarter: in-depth lecture notes; a weekly 1% extra credit problem; crazy fast email response times (20-30 min). With all of these resources, doing well in EE's classes is v possible.
He seems too smart for this class. Things Ive learned in AP calc and sorta understand became so much more confusing after he lectured. The exams are so short so if you screw up 1 problem, thats 20 points off. Once I started going to CLAS, my grade went up. My CLAS tutor was so good at teaching stuff and I got an A on the second midterm. TAKE CLAS
