By far the best teacher I've had at UCSB. She's really down to earth and you can tell she loves teaching. She's clear, helpful, and open to student suggestions. Study the lecture notes for the exams really well and you'll do fine. Excellent teacher.

easily the best prof i've had since coming to ucsb. she is extremely nice and helpful and she welcomes discussion in class. tests are difficult because they are fill in the blank but if you go to class, study, and just know your stuff you should be fine. i would def recommend taking jansmas class to anyone!

Very nice lady. She is very clear and interesting. I found her lectures to be easier to understand than Dolly Mullin's lectures. The only bad thing are the test are all fill in the blank so u really have to know your****.

Shes kinda crazy seeming, definitely a little out there & a little boring for 8am bc she takes an hour to go thru 3 lecture slides, but tests are pretty easy...the paper & esp the presentation are kind of a **** but overall not too bad of a class

personally - im not a fan of fill in the blank exams and i had a problem with those- but other than that decent prof and decent class

Jansma is great! i had her class at 8am and managed to stay awake in every single one of them so that has to tell you something about her teaching righ there. memorize the vocab she uses in her lectures notes and you'll do fine. lots of fill in the blank.

Great teacher. This is my second class with her. Her views of conflict, and way of life can really help you out in life. Her class makes you calm, and think of the important things in life. No joke. :)

If you take 89, take it with her. She's just really nice and loves her job, and lectures and tests make sense and reward you for studying.

Great teacher. Exams are fair and come from the notes. Dr. J is very clear and always has something interesting to talk about during lectures.

She is a very intelligent and great looking woman.
