Awesome lecturer, super helpful, taking 160b with him was one of the best experience I've ever had at UCSB. UCLA is lucky to have him.

I highly recommend not to take his class because his lecture is unbelievably unhelpful and he gives no hints for homework. Unfortunately, if you need this class, you should find classmates to cooperate homework.

One of the worst professor I've had at UCSB as a stats major. Homeworks and assignments are difficult, and he does not provide a lot of help in lecture or during office hours. TAs are your best bet to pass the class. PLEASE AVOID IF POSSIBLE, just take it another quarter.

Avoid this guy at all cost. Lecture doesn't correlate much with exam. Doesn't know how to explain things not clear. Unclear grading criteria.

Overall professor Voss is a solid pick for this class. Lectures provide rough outlines of topics but you should read the book for clarity. His python homeworks are very fun but the written homework usually are harder but you can do majority of them after visiting office hours. Make sure to do well on the final as it is basically your grade.

Professor Voss is a good professor for Stochastic Processes, since that's one of his primary focuses. His lecture focuses on explaining theory and then giving some example problems relevant to the homework. The homework was challenging but never impossible. If you go to OH he's willing to help. Solve all the problems and you should do great.

Voss is one of my favorite professors in UCSB. He is very kind and caring! Python homework is interesting and helpful for learning the related concepts. Some problems in the midterm is a little bit tricky but the final is very straightforward. You should be fine if you understand all the examples discussed in the lectures/sections.

Voss is one of my favorite PSTAT professors. His lectures are clear and closely related to the textbook; the grading criteria is fair; super nice and accessible outside of class. His midterm and finals are fair as well. If you run through the lecture example, mid/final practice problem, and HW problems a few times, you should do fine.

Voss is a great professor, but he doesnt post solutions to the examples on the slides so your best bet is to actually show up to lecture and section, even though its not mandatory. Office hours are really helpful as well. The course material itself is really dense so its best to go to class, read, and ask questions at OH.

Professor Voss is patient and willing to help. I can feel that he really cares about what hes teaching. He typically writes down all to the example solutions on the blackboard, so would highly recommend to go to his lectures. His slides are really good guidelines to go through, but you still need to refer to the textbook to grasp the definitions.

The lectures are unclear, and when you go the office hour to ask questions regarding the lecture, he will tell the subjects are covered in class and wont explain anymore. He doesn't distribute answers to past homework and practice final, so if you want to get solutions, you can only go to the office hour and run into the same situation above

I thought everything I heard about Voss was extreme until I took his class. Lectures are basically word for word from the book and provided no further explanation for problems he assign for homework, which are 2-3x harder. Nice guy, but not a good lecture. One of the TA is the saving grace for this class that did a better job explaining than he did

Never take a class with this guy. His lectures were easy but midterm and final are super hard with no curves. A lot of written and python homework, which are hard, and no hints were given. Really had a hard time doing these. I worked super hard on final, and finally got B, which is the lowest grade I received among all upper division PSTAT classes.

He's a very nice guy. Lectures are easy, but homework is way harder than lectures. The thing I don't like about him is that he writes everything down. If you have questions, just ask him, after class or go to office hour. He gives clear explanation and he's very patient. Midterm is hard but final is easy. We can transfer the midterm to the final.

He is a knowledgable professor and he is very willing to provide help outside the class.

Garbage lectures and made the midterm so much harder than it needed to be. His lectures consisted of super easy common sense material, with his homework/tests so much more difficult in comparison. He often avoided student questions because we were "short on time." The only good thing was he made the final a lot easier to make up for the midterm.

Although I didn't really pay attention to what he was saying in class (since it was a morning class), all of his notes on the board made sense when I revisited them! He's a fair professor. His tests are actually straightforward and sometimes are pulled right from the examples in lecture! So, study your notes and do all the practice tests/homework!!

His class was very interesting; however, further reading and practice problems are required to do well in this class. Also, before each exam redo all of the homework to study. In fact, I did better on the exams than the homework because of the weird grading structure.
