Cold War history was one of the hardest classes I took, but he made it interesting and I looked forward to class. And he has a great sense of humor.

Professor Hasegawa is awesome! He can be difficult to understand during the first few lectures; however, stick with it and you will be rewarded by one of the best and most interesting teacher in the Univ. of California system. Good use of PowerPoint to complement lectures.

He is a great teacher just really hard to understand, you have to take really good notes and read the text really closely

Hasegawa has an adorable personality and he made lecture fun and interesting. Although the class is a lot of work it is worth it, and the tests are easy. He is kind of hard to understand but not if you sit close to the front. I would recommend him to everyone!!

One of the cutest (in personalities) professors I have come pass in my SB exprience. He has a witty personality and self-promotes his academic writing without being a pompous jerk about it. He has a strong accent that undercuts his English, but it adds to his personality. Get a good TA cuz mine was a b***h, but he's cool..

if you can get passed his accent this class is amazing! not only does he make history interesting but he makes an effort to get to know peoples names and even stops by the disussion sections. LOTS of reading, 2 short papers and 1 big paper. the tas are helpful in breaking down the primary sources. word.

I haven't stayed awake during one class. He's hard to understand, he takes a long time to say things and the subjects of the papers are really lame. Everyone else seems to like him, though. Maybe it's just me.

Incredibly knowledgeable, and very caring about his students. His passion for the material he teaches is evident, and contagious.
