Moret was one of the best professors I have had at UCSB. Her lectures are really interesting I feel like I actually learned something. I loved the field trips that were incorporated into the class. Seriously a fun class and allows you to be creative. Would 100% take again.

There were lots of little assignments so yes you have to put time into this class but overall an easy A. I took as a GE so the class was full of freshmen. I feel like we never really go in depth and most of the content is just a quick summary of the different ES topics, but overall I am glad I took this class. Moret is cool.

Moret is very passionate about her work, and the class is very easy. All assignments are basically participation based, as you should get a 100% on each assignment as long as you write something related to the topic and around the word count. There are two midterms which are take home and open note which is amazing. There is also no final. Easy A.

This professor was very knowledgable however she was tasked with teaching many courses this quarter and didn't seem like she had the time to fully engage in our course. The first 3 weeks were online and after that we had one lecture in person and one lecture online per week. Assignments were fairly easy and exams were online. Section was fun.

Great class, great professor. Has very clear deadlines, criteria, and overall info on each component of the course that you will rarely need to ask a question. There are quite a few assignments, however they are doable and yo are given ample time to complete each. Three fun field trips, two group projects. Time management is key. AMAZING GE.

Moret clearly cares deeply about the subjects she teaches about. I also had her for es 40 (not as fun of a class) and she always wants her students to do the best they can. She's also very inclusive and makes sure to note inequalities that come up in these subjects. Overall, I'd recommend her classes.

Professor Moret was an awesome lecturer and although there were quite a few little assignments, I never felt overwhelmed by them and they could be finished quickly. The class was probably one of the easiest GEs that I've taken. Her passion about the environment makes this class enjoyable and she was always very accommodating.

Stephanie is so passionate about ENVS, so while the lectures can be long, her enthusiasm is infectious. This class has a lot of assignments to intentionally decrease the weight of exams, but as long as you do the work and like ENVS, it's a fun class!

I love Dr. Moret! Her class was a godsend during a busy quarter. Grading consisted of section participation (35%), writing projects (25%), 2 midterms (25% total), and reading quizzes (15%). She offered an online option and exams were clear and straightforward. Loved hearing her stories - I would definitely recommend this class!

Great prof and interesting class. Many writing assignments but fair because it counts for WRIT credit. We went on to multiple field trips and learned a lot. The TA handles most grading, so if you have a nice TA, this class is very manageable and easy. Highly recommended:)

I cannot recommend Moret enough!! She really cares about her students and wants them to succeed. Her class is made up of weekly asynchronous lectures that have word-to-word answers to the exam. Her grading is NOT harsh and she has many small assignments so if you do not do well on one, your grade is not majorly affected. She is passionate and kind!

Dr. Moret is my favorite professor I've had so far, she makes ES2 so interesting and while there is a lot of information in each lecture, it's all important. Take it if you want to learn more about our planet and our relationship with it. Very reasonable workload too. Also, if you have the opportunity, take the honors class!

She's so nice! She gives extended time on exams to anyone who needs it, and there's a lot of emphasis on smaller assignments rather than a few exams that are worth your entire grade.

Moret is one of the sweetest professors I've had at UCSB! Clearly is very passionate about the subject but still explains it in a way that's easy to understand. Her lectures were very engaging and she provided a really great introduction to ENVS. There is definitely a lot of content to memorize but I found the class pretty easy!

I thought that test/questions were really tricky and asked for very specific things. I took the class online which was the only reason I got an A. Otherwise, I probably would've gotten a B. Tough class!

Honestly the sweetest and funniest prof I've had at UCSB. She is super caring and wants you to succeed. You could tell it was hard for her to not have us in class w her, it was online for summer. The material is easy, take notes from lecture slides bc you can use them for tests. A few projects, small essays, 2 books, 2 midterms- no cumulative final

The kindest and sweetest professor you'll have. She makes exams really easy by letting you go in with notes. (you'll need them b/c there's a LOT of material) Attendance isn't super necessary if you can get the notes from someone, but I went b/c because I liked to hear her speak. She's really passionate and talks about her own life fairly often.

If you're willing to put in some work it's an easy A. Lectures aren't the most exciting but she gives you her slides ahead of time and theres a lot of busy work and random assignments but they're not hard just a little time consuming. Plus for her tests she lets you bring a notes so you don't have to study.

This is a grade class to take in the lieu of an actual writing class. You just write short blogs and one short essay. All of it is about environmental activism and makes you think about nature in a different light. Makes you rethink your daily habits and how you can help the Earth yourself. posted slides have blank spaces in them so go to lecture

Professor Moret is really passionate about environmental studies. She does her best to give us a broad understanding of different environmental topics and does a really great job at it. The class has a lot of assignments but they're all really easy and manageable. Easy A class and really interesting with a little effort. Do not buy textbook.

Really nice prof but sometimes monotone so hard to focus. Posts lectures online but without key words so you have to go to lecture to fill in. No iclicker, 2 midterms, 4 blog/papers (1 is final), 2 field trips instead of section that are fun, No textbook but 2 book quizzes on "optimistic env" and "story of stuff". This was a really easy A class

Such a sweet lady! Easy class, but posts only partial lecture notes online. A few writing assignments, gauchospace quizzes, and the midterm and final are multiple choice (open note). Didn't use the textbook once, just took good notes during lecture. Very approachable and cares about students. Material is pretty easy

She's a sweet lady with an optimistic outlook on environmental issues. Lectures consist of reading off slides (later posted) which was sleep-inducing at times but overall the class is pretty easy. You can skim through the 2 required books & ace the quizzes. Most of the actual quiz ?'s are posted beforehand so you know exactly what to study.
