The most AMAZING professor at UCSB. Your grade is only based on the midterm and final, so you have to go to class or youll miss a lot of point, but lecture is so engaging and entertaining that its not bad at all. Aldo is so intelligent about such a wide variety of anthropology/tech knowledge, and knows how to make class exciting. Take this class!

Hands down BEST lecturer I've ever had (out of 6 yrs undergrad). He's captivating, relevant, and very informed. He allows questions about anything at the beginning of every class. The tests are multiple choice, but pretty hard. He mostly tests on lecture so if you don't go you won't pass. 109 was one of my favorite classes, highly recommend Aldo.

As long as you go to class you will be totally fine. His tests are 97% from the lectures. Take notes on the slides and what he discusses in class, go over it the day before the midterm/final and you can get an A. He's a genuinely interesting professor with very intriguing lectures and he usually lets you out like 15-20 minutes early.

Aldo is hands down the best/most entertaining lecturer I've ever had. His lectures are so captivating and hilarious that I think anyone will enjoy them, not just anthro majors. Never miss class though, and TAKE NOTES, don't just copy the powerpoint. The tests are short but very specific. No textbook, I never did the online reading and got a B.

Aldo is by far and away one of the best professors I have ever had. He's funny, informative, and most importantly, he cares about you learning. Tests are designed to be crazy easy, so long as you GO TO LECTURE. That being said, I can't imagine why you'd want to miss even a minute of any classes.

One of the best professors I have had in my whole academic career. He is so passionate about such an interesting subject it's hard to be bored in class. Tests were basically notes word for word so if you actually go to class and take good notes you should do fine! No textbook and doesn't post anything about lectures online so attendance is a must!

Doesn't use + or - so if you get an A- you get an A. Great teacher, super engaging and really great lecturer. One of the best Professor's if not THE best I've had at UCSB.

Great lecturer, really engaging. Would love to take another course with him, really disappointed he is only a guest lecturer. 1 midterm and 1 final, I took notes and read them over before the exam and did really well. Little stressful because if you screw up the final you basically fail the class. Just go to class and pay attention.

One midterm. One final. No attendance. However, you need to go to lectures to do well on tests. His lectures are really realllly interesting. One of my favorite classes.

Dr. Cimino's lectures are charismatic and stimulating but he needs better reading! I would rather rub my face on a rusty cheese grater for an hour than spend 5 more minutes reading another required reading. I've been more intellectually stimulated waiting at the DMV than from these articles. .

I loved the class. The subjects discussed in this class are not for everyone. You must attend every single lecture, and believe me, you will want to. Professor Cimino is definitely one of the best lecturers that UCSB has.

Amazing lecturer, really presents the material well. Easy to pay attention the entire class. Tests are on the lectures, so PAY ATTENTION and take good notes. Don't have to buy a textbook, readings are posted on gauchospace. Super interesting and always ends the class giving you something to think about. This class re inspired my interest in school.

Aldo is a great professor, one of the best I have had. His lectures are interesting, he is very clear, good at explaining complex matters and even though his lectures cover complicated issues they are never boring. If you have an interest in Evolutionary Psychology, Biological Anthropology or anything like this, don't hesitate to take his classes!

Very easy class. 2 reading assignments a week, 23 MC midterm and 25 MC Final. He's pretty funny, but sometimes the jokes and anecdotes drag on. He always let us out 15-20 minutes early.

thought i could get by without going to class .. i was wrong. glad i switched it to pnp. he doesn't believe in textbooks so he put all the readings online and then in class we discuss the readings. i missed too much lecture to be able to catch up. overall easy class if you pay attention! not too much reading either.

He's really smart, funny, and entertaining. Definitely one of my favorite classes and professors in Anthro. Readings online articles were important as he calls on people to ask or answer questions for participation points. Tests were very straightforward if you mostly readattended class. missing class missed test questions a lot of the time.

Do yourself a favor and take one -or all- of Aldo's courses. I have never had such an inspiring, funny, mind blowing professor. He is the reason I changed my major to Bioanthropology. As long as you consistently do the reading guides and attend lecture (which I promise you will WANT to do), you will never be screwed over on the midterm or final.

Professor Cimino has been one of the most entertaining and enthusiastic professors that I have had at UCSB. His class is interesting, and I honestly looked forward to going to his classes. If you pay attention in class (which won't be hard) and take good notes you will do well in the class. One midterm and one final, no textbook or readings.

Do not fear, Dr. Cimino is an incredible professor. He is the funniest professor that I have had at UCSB by far. If you show up, listen, and study for the tests (one midterm, one final) you will get a good grade. He is brilliant and entertaining. You will enjoy class!

Such an amazing class and professor! He is so entertaining, but also teaches you such interesting things about the subject matter. There was no textbook and just a few articles for reading. No papers or any other busy work assignments. Paying attention in lecture can get you can A in the class!

He is really enthusiastic and entertaining. Definitely one of the most interesting lecturers I've had. Only problem-he may sacrifice importance of concepts for the purpose of being entertaining and "cool." I hope he gets better with more teaching experience!
