The most AMAZING professor at UCSB. Your grade is only based on the midterm and final, so you have to go to class or youll miss a lot of point, but lecture is so engaging and entertaining that its not bad at all. Aldo is so intelligent about such a wide variety of anthropology/tech knowledge, and knows how to make class exciting. Take this class!
Hands down BEST lecturer I've ever had (out of 6 yrs undergrad). He's captivating, relevant, and very informed. He allows questions about anything at the beginning of every class. The tests are multiple choice, but pretty hard. He mostly tests on lecture so if you don't go you won't pass. 109 was one of my favorite classes, highly recommend Aldo.
As long as you go to class you will be totally fine. His tests are 97% from the lectures. Take notes on the slides and what he discusses in class, go over it the day before the midterm/final and you can get an A. He's a genuinely interesting professor with very intriguing lectures and he usually lets you out like 15-20 minutes early.
Aldo is hands down the best/most entertaining lecturer I've ever had. His lectures are so captivating and hilarious that I think anyone will enjoy them, not just anthro majors. Never miss class though, and TAKE NOTES, don't just copy the powerpoint. The tests are short but very specific. No textbook, I never did the online reading and got a B.
Aldo is by far and away one of the best professors I have ever had. He's funny, informative, and most importantly, he cares about you learning. Tests are designed to be crazy easy, so long as you GO TO LECTURE. That being said, I can't imagine why you'd want to miss even a minute of any classes.
One of the best professors I have had in my whole academic career. He is so passionate about such an interesting subject it's hard to be bored in class. Tests were basically notes word for word so if you actually go to class and take good notes you should do fine! No textbook and doesn't post anything about lectures online so attendance is a must!
