He is really helpful during the office hours. The midterms and finals are always similar as the practice problems. Lectures are well organized and gave a lot of examples to explain the concept. His curve is also very big. A good math professor and I really recommend to take MATH6B with him.

His lectures are confusing, he speaks very quietly so sit in the front. But his tests are straightforward so it is not so bad.

Professor Karimi is a really nice teacher. He speaks softly, so just sit closer to the front to understand his lecture. His curve is amazing though. I probably should have gotten a B, but instead I got an A- with the curve. Tests are similar to practice exams but are a little trickier. If you got to CLAS as well, you're bound to get at least a B-.

Just a little bit soft on the voice, suggest sitting close to the front. Clear steps, lectures well-structured, overall easy to understand, but maybe all this is just because I'm good at the course.

He knows the material but is really quiet. His tests are straight forward and are similar to the practice ones he posts. He's a fair grader

Decent Professor overall. Exams are pretty much exactly like the practice tests. (Midterm is 35%, Final is 50% of grade) There is a rather lenient curve given for exams and the final grade. Goes over many examples in lectures, but skips over steps at times and is a little unclear. Speaks rather quietly but is clear in speech.

Good professor but too quiet, hard to hear him past the first few rows. No textbook. Lectures and homework are good prep for tests, but they were still hard. Did not need to go to section. He's really fair with curves and due dates can be flexible. Best math professor at UCSB.

He's very quiet and skips a lot of steps and mumbles a lot. This class was super stressful and we didn't really know what to expect from him. He curves and is fair. He seems like a nice guy to talk to about math but I wouldn't take another class with him. I'm really surprised at the good reviews. Got outta the class with a good grade though!

He makes everything concise and easy to understand. There is more emphasis on the methods of solving than on useless memorization. Really funny and chill guy. The class environment is very warm and welcoming. Karimi prepares you very well for the midterm and final. Best math lecturer I've ever had at UCSB.

He was helpful during office hours, clear as to what will be on the exam and gives us a bunch of practice. He also skips the proofs and useless derivations too, which is good. I just wish he helped students through email more. He makes a lot of mistakes during lecture though, but he still allows us to grasp the concept. Getting an A is doable.

He explains clearly with formula followed by a wide range of example. He's easy to follow and doesn't waste time with proofs. He genuinely wants to see his students do well, and makes sure he is giving correct info. Also, he is the nicest guy and will do anything he can to help you. His tests are challenging but fair. just great overall.

Shahab and his TA Brandon made this class enjoyable and approachable. I started calculus with anxiety and left with a sense of accomplishment. Kind and humble, Shahab clearly cares about his students learning. He is careful in his instruction, making sure we were all on the same page before moving on. He is a true educator. Wonderful class.

He was a pretty good teacher, and probably a great guy, but I don't know that. He's not social, but he's not monotonous either. :) I recommend taking his class, definitely.

He taught math really well! I had no problem getting a command of the material when he taught the concepts. I would take another math class with him in a heartbeat!

Good professor . Knows his material and knows how to teach it in a way so you can understand. I am not a math person and was able to pass with a B and actually understand the material. Definitely recommend taking Shahab over any other professor.

He was my favorite teacher so far, and actually cared about his students learning. He was an amazing professor. If he sees that you are willing to work hard, he will work with you and be very patient. Be sure to take advantage of office hours if you fall behind.

Great professor! Just be sure to do the homework, remember the quizzes, and go to class. Those problems are basically very much like test problems. His office hours are helpful too!

Karimi is a very generous and understanding professor. As an example, after the first midterm, he sent us an e-mail apologizing if it was too challenging, and that he would do his best to curve the test. He gives tons of examples in class to make sure students fully understand the subject matter. My favorite math professor as a freshman so far!
