I don't normally write these things but Mike deserves an exception. Mike's class is a straightforward framework to better understanding the world through taking a good look at how your body reacts to it. Some will gripe and write it off, but if you take this class seriously it can make a genuine difference in how you approach the world. Thanks Mike

I can honestly say that this is th best class I took at UCSB. Mrazek's class was like no other, and the way it was set up didn't really feel like a class. He is such a genuine person and really cares about his students and the topic. I would definitely recommend this class and professor. It was a great experience to have been a part of this class.

This was an amazing class, and it was one of my favorite that I took at UCSB. I did not really enjoy practicing mindfulness but I still feel like I got so much out of the class. I would truly say that Professor Mrazek is inspirational. His lectures really make you think, and the usefulness of this class goes far beyond just another college course.

Wonderful class, wonderful teacher. Innovative topics that are becoming more and more relevant to psychological well-being. Applying the knowledge through in-class meditations was very helpful.

This was one of the most stimulating and personally relevant courses that I took at UCSB. Not only do you get to learn the science of mindfulness and its various benefits, you also learn the skill of mindful meditation. Professor Mrazek is consistently thoughtful, kind, and engaging. Take this course if you want to improve your life.

I thought this class was very interesting, I still actually use a lot of the concepts we learned in my real life since I have graduated. The class really focused on the subject and we practiced being mindful everyday before the class began. Would recommend, this teacher cares for his students.

He did not challenge students to go beyond superficial assumptions about the topic and instead chose to appeal to, even reinforce, mindfulness stereotypes. Disappointingly uninspiring.

Lacking in both depth and substance in terms of the alleged mindfulness component, the class was merely Positive Psychology in disguise. Despite claiming otherwise, Mike did not respond kindly to feedback that challenged any of his subjectiveidiosyncratic interpretations of mindfulness. Overall disappointingly superficial and under-stimulating.

I took his Mindfulness class & he is one of the best professors I have EVER had. I loved everything about his class. It's a fascinating subject that's emerging in the field & it was not only intriguing to learn about, but relevant & applicable to my life as well. No textbook , tests are fair, & he is AMAZING. Take anything he ever teaches! TAKE IT!

I have had many teachers in my life but never someone as good as Michael Mrazek. He is extremely clear, organized, charismatic and very helpful. You can also sense that he really know the things he talks about. Exams and quizes are not too hard as long as you do your study.

Seriously the best teacher I'v ever had. Without a doubt. He is organized, clear, amazing with lectures and very involved. You have to be extremely lazy NOT to learn a lot from this class.

Great professor! Very clear and concise when it comes to lectures. No surprises on his midterms either. He gives you 3 midterms throughout the semester and drops the lowest grade. The work is very easy and your textbook is there just for further reading and reference but you can pass without reading it. Overall great course.

Great professor, really passionate about about his work. There is no assigned readings. Really into meditation, which is great. An A is more than manageable with a bit of studying.
